Product Marketing Director


This is a Full-time position in Richardson, TX posted September 19, 2021.

The Director of Global Product Marketing is ultimately responsible for management of the global product portfolio, including launches and promotions. This position requires a combination of passion and experience in collaborating heavily with research and development on new product innovation and renovation. The ideal candidate will also have exceptional interpersonal skills to align and empower cross-functional teams to meet marketing objectives.

Job Summary & General Duties

  • Leads development of marketing plan objectives, strategy, messaging, marketing mix, and tactics for the global product portfolio.
  • Launches products at events and gives product presentations to internal and external audiences.
  • Owns the Global Product Marketing Calendar and ensures alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Collaborates extensively with product marketing and R&D teams in developing new and exciting innovations and renovations.
  • Initiates and leads cross-functional teams to deliver business objectives related to product innovation. Builds and maintains relationships with strategic industry and cross-functional partners. Leads discussions and presentations with cross-functional senior executive teams.
  • Tracks, analyzes and communicates product and promotion performance. Provides meaningful insight and recommends action plans to address variances in performance against expectations.
  • Drives forecasting, working with Sales and Supply chain and managing performance against expectations.
  • Manages interactions between Marketing, Legal, Purchasing and Creative team in development of packaging design and routing, product launches and promotional materials.
  • Creates and presents the business case for new product and promotions to support growth strategies and profitability.
  • Serves as the marketing subject matter expert for the full product portfolio.
  • Makes recommendations regarding product objectives and strategy, positioning, pricing, packaging, and product life-cycle.
  • Supports qualitative and quantitative research to develop key findings and recommended actions.
  • Contributes to the innovation strategy reflecting consumer trends and market needs.
  • Monitors the marketplace for new innovations, competitors, lifestyle trends and emerging technologies.
  • Develops and manages the promotions budget.

Attributes & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field required. Master’s preferred.
  • 8+ years experience in brand/product marketing and development (nutrition and/or dietary supplement industry), with experience in packaging, product launches and product promotions.
  • Passionate and committed to bringing new, exciting, and effective products to market.
  • Ability to initiate, innovate, develop and execute against all product initiatives.
  • Strong strategic, analytic, financial and consumer research skills. Demonstrated ability to translate opportunities into strategy and action.
  • Effective in developing cross-functional partnerships and working collaboratively with a variety of teams.
  • Salesforce experience and related add-ons is a plus.
  • Experience with international markets is a plus.
