Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is one of four Lockheed Martin business areas. MFC is looking for a Software Engineer Manager to be responsible for the leadership, development and technical excellence of their team.

Your responsibilities will include:

– Providing technical coaching and mentoring, work assignments, employee career development, continuous ongoing feedback, and being their employees advocate in opportunity discussions.

– Supporting functional initiatives and directorate undertakings, coordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessments, salary planning, recognition/disciplinary actions, and engineering competency development

– Driving technical excellence, affordability, and program execution, supporting program development, execution of program requirements, adherence to engineering development processes, promoting customer focus, and serving as the technical conscience for the program

You will have the opportunity as a Manager to work with a variety of technologies. This includes naval systems, radar systems, business intelligence/analytics, developing code to support wireless technologies, development of robotics, missile combat systems, and virtual reality simulation platforms, information assurance/cyber security among other amazing software frontiers.

It is possible that travel will be required to both customer and supplier sites. It is also possible that travel will be both within and outside the Continental United States (CONUS). Telecommuting opportunities can vary depending on daily tasking.

*Must currently hold a DoD Secret Security Clearance to be considered for this position*

In addition to meeting security clearance requirements, candidate may need to be approved to work Special Access Program (SAP) prior to start of employment.

– Bachelor’s degree, or greater, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or an equivalent field with significant software development experience, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with the needs of this position

– Experience with embedded development using a real-time operating system

– Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical systems/programs

– Process Improvement and Affordability experience

– Software engineering Management or Software engineering Team Lead experience including task planning, budget management, subcontract management and/or employee development and mentoring

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week
