Job/Position Purpose

The Driver is responsible for loading the delivery vehicle and delivering the tires directly to the company’s customers within the time limit.

Responsibilities

  • Plan the itinerary and schedule for customer visits as directed by the dispatcher;· Load the delivery trucks;
  • Perform a pre-departure inspection of the delivery vehicle to detect any anomalies;
  • Drive the vehicle to the customer’s location and unload the shipped units within the time limit;
  • Complete shipping documents with customers to verify the accuracy of delivery;
  • Return to warehouse with goods returned by customers as well as COD payments;
  • Report all accidents and incidents involving drivers or equipment of the company to the dispatcher or warehouse manager;
  • Promptly report any delays in deliveries due to breakdowns, weather conditions, traffic conditions or other emergencies, as well as in cases of irregularities in the collection or delivery of the cargo;
  • Provide much needed support for receiving incoming goods and preparing delivery vehicles.

Success Factors

  • Able to lift loads up to 45 pounds;
  • Able to drive a vehicle for long hours;
  • Valid driver’s license with an impeccable driving record;
  • Experience in the delivery and operation of commercial vehicles;
  • Ability to read and speak the region’s first language;
  • Autonomy;
  • Resourcefulness and sense of initiative;
  • Focused on customer service.
