Senior Software Engineer

This is a Full-time position in Dallas, TX posted November 16, 2021.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll contribute to a wide array of web applications and services that power our Video Visitation product on our Inmate Tablets.

Most of our applications are built with Ruby-on-Rails with either native Rails server-side rendering (usually JSON API’s) or client-side React.

We use Resque for background jobs and FFmpeg for video transcoding.

One cool twist: we use JRuby and the JVM to get maximum concurrency out of our applications.

You’re a great fit for our engineering team if you are a leader, self-managed, motivated, passionate about what we do and how you can contribute to it, and constantly on the look-out for better ways to do things.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with software development, working in a collaborative environment, with the ability to work independently and collaborate with diversified teams across different time-zones.

This is a leadership role within our Engineering department, and it is therefore important that the candidate have good mentoring, communication, and tasking skills to facilitate the growth and career development of more junior engineers.

**This position will sit at either our Falls Church VA, San Francisco CA, Dallas TX, or Remote location**
