Financial Management Consultant

This is a Full-time position in Ottawa, ON posted November 28, 2018.

Our public sector client is looking for an experienced Two Financial Management consultants to join their team on a contractual basis.

Roles and Responsibilities
The work will involve generating and analyzing financial reports, interview and meeting with employees to gather information or for clarification purposes, writing processes, procedures and narratives (hereafter called procedures) related to financial and salary management, developing training materials and train employees (managers and administrative officers):

  • Perform salary variance analysis to determine salary over and under payments related to Phoenix.
  • Prepare training materials and train managers and their administrative/finance employees on the following: i. How to generate and analyse the salary management reports from SAP and BI ii. How to identify over and under payment cases among their employees iii. The steps involved in resolving Phoenix related over and under payments.
  • Document the Financial Management Advisor (FMA) roles and responsibilities
  • Document financial Management business processes and procedures related to Budgeting, forecasting and Reporting. 
  • This include development of workflow, standard forms and reporting templates.
  • Prepare training materials and train employees (managers & administrative officers) on the business processes and procedures. Develop a budget management framework document.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must have a diploma, or degree specialization in Finance, Economics, Social Science and/or Business Administration
  • Must have 3 years experience in the development of a Financial Management Framework
  • The ability to analyze both financial and accounting fundamental Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in financial planning, reporting and analysis working with Government of Canada
