Title: Child Care Site DirectorReports to: Associate Executive Director of ChildcareLocation: Various Elementary School Sites Across Copperas Cove, Killeen, and BeltonEmployment Type: Part Time HourlyWork Hours: Mornings & Afternoons (Before & Afterschool) SUMMARY: Once at the site you will be responsible for the overall management and supervision of a before and after school program site which has 30 to 100 school-age children enrolled.

You will manage activity scheduling, weekly lesson plan creation, and attendance, oversee the administration of the food program and establish working relationship with the school principal, teacher, and custodian, staff.

Ability to relate well with both children and parents.

Responsible for ensuring that the childcare environment is safe and secure at all times.

Attend all ASYMCA mandatory training and staff meetings as requested.

Must uphold and promote the AYMCA mission by demonstrating the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Main Responsibilities:
· Objective for this role is to provide a safe environment and manage the well
– being of each child and staff person at your site.
· Assist with drills to practice site-evacuation/emergency procedures for fire, tornado drills, etc., and is capable of implementing procedure.
· Report any staff or child accident/incidents or suspected child abuse injury to Coordinator as soon as possible.

Will fill out appropriate report, make necessary phone calls, and follow all emergency procedures.
· Use positive methods of child guidance.
· Supervise children to ensure safety and appropriate behavior and manage transitions.
· Work to meet daily duties and the needs of the program, and to be responsible for making sure that materials are ready for use and put away at the end of the day.
· Greet all parents and update them on children’s progress as needed.
· Attend all staff mandatory training.
· Abide by established ASYMCA policies procedure, regulations and guidelines.
· Perform other duties as required by your Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:
· Imagination, a sense of humor, patience, conviction, sincerity, enthusiasm, initiative, self-control, adaptability, willingness to learn, integrity, and ingenuity.
· Responsible for supervising, and being a good role model, for children enrolled in the program.
· Group Leader in charge of creating and implementing games, activities, etc.
· Be a positive role model for Elementary children ages (4-12) years old.

Mandatory Certifications: First Aid/ CPR Certification Redwood’s Safety Trainings State Police Criminal Record Check F.B.I.

Able and willing to help clean sick children and comfort then during they’re sickness (illness).

Must have the capability to notice the emotional, intellectual and physical talents of each child.

Remain flexible for specific job and general ASYMCA training and mandatory staff meetings.

Work Environment:The work environment is generally set in a school location, outside activities are required as weather permits.

Noise level is moderate to extreme daily.

Travel: Travel is not required for this position.

Education and Experience:
· Must be at least 21 years of age (High School Diplomas or GED General Educations Degree).
· Previous experience working with children ages 4-12 years old is required.
· Must have demonstrated leadership experience in childcare.
· Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency;
· Ability to relate well to children;
· Must have Child/Adult CPR and First Aid within 3 months of start of employment.
