My direct ldquoglobalrdquo client, located in Dallas TX, is seeking to add a Big Data Architect to their growing team as a full-time employee. The Role is Remote and will continue to be remote for the foreseeable future however candidates must live in the Dallas area or be willing to relocate at some point. No Sponsorship, Corp. to Corp. (C2C) or Third-Party help at this time As a Data Architect, you will help shape the future of consumer data in the vision space. We seek an experienced, ldquohands-onrdquo data architect to deliver quality data intelligence solutions to the organization, assist our analytics team with drawing insights, and lead the architecture of our data platform for vision. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. Candidates should self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products and must possess knowledge of current state of the art data platforms and solutions. Benefits Career Advancement Unlimited PTO from day one Nine Holidays Discounted Services the company offers 401K ndash match 100 up to the first 6 Stock Purchase Plan ndash match approx. 50 of the first 6K Comprehensive training Duties and Responsibilities Lead the enhancement, architecture, and on-going evolution using a wide array of technologies (Spark, Python, GoLang, Apigee, Delta Lake, Databricks, Kafka, Databucks, as well as more traditional technologies such as Mulesoft and SQL) across Google, Amazon, and Azure cloud environments. Identify and manage existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and ensure these risks are effectively identified and escalated to be measured, monitored, and controlled. Participate in the data management life cycle process from requirements through production support. Work closely with business analysts and product owners to understand requirements. Stay current with industry trends and incorporate best of breed technology, patterns, and methodologies. Participate in Agile ceremonies like standup, grooming and retrospectives. Provide hands on technical leadership and mentoring to the Data Engineers on the team. Collaborate with application development teams to surface data solutions for all programs. Build, manage, and optimize data pipelines for data structures encompassing data transformation, data models, schemas, metadata, data quality, and workload management. Follow and enforce written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities. Identify and manage existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role. Implement efficient defect management, root cause analysis, and resolution processes. Implement data mining and segmentation best practices and techniques. Give and receive constructive feedback. Core Qualifications and Education 10 years of combined data engineering and architecture experience. 8 years combined experience with SQL andor No SQL databases. 5 years combined experience with object-oriented scripting languages such as C, Python, Go, Java. 3 years combined experience with big data platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc. 2 years exposing data as a service with RESTful APIs. 1 year experience working with a version control system (GIT). Experience with big data within at least one major Cloud (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure) required. Experience with Microservices, Event Driven Architecture, Real-Time Data, traditional ETL, Data streaming, Pub Sub Models is required. Experience with Google Big Query is a preferred. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server SSIS preferred. Familiarity with Data Visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBi preferred. Experience with agile software development processes preferred. Experience using Data Bricks and specifically Delta Lake and MLFlow a big plus.
