Description Job Family: RiskMonitors activities to minimize the company’s exposure to risk.

Activities may include quantitative analysis, risk identification and remediation.

Represents or supports the reputation of the company to minimize compliance and regulatory risk by resolving issues and ensuring adherence to company and legal standards.

Responsible for ensuring that all of the company’s activities adhere to the necessary rules and regulations, and that the company complies with legal/regulatory statutes and jurisdictions.Job Function: Risk ManagementEnsures adherence to the policies and procedures established by the company.

Manages policy, standard definition and monitoring of policy, standard implementation, ensuring harmonization and consistency of risk policies.

Monitors and manages risk/exposure and compliance with the company’s policies.

Identifies, manages and reports on the company’s risk areas.

Evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of data, document retention, and monitors systems.Summary of Responsibilities:The 2nd Line Risk Management Business Control Sr.

Associate strategic business leadership around key activities within the 2nd line related to identifying, assessing, mitigating and managing risk and ensures the existence of appropriate product and platform supervisory controls.

The Sr.

Associate works to improve the control environment within the 2nd line through oversight and evaluation of the various components of the business and operating functions across the collective and individual risk groups.

S/he evaluates the industry, market and regulatory environment to anticipate changes and help ensure appropriate alignment with potential business scenarios.

Essential Functions: Responsible for execution of the annual risk and control self-assessment cycle for second line risk functional areas, including process, risk, and control documentation as well as control testing.Facilitates the identification, documentation, and management of risk issues identified and/or owned by the second line risk functions.Recognized as a second line subject matter expert by advising and guiding enterprise-wide initiatives such as risk assessments, policy governance, and management/remediation of issues.Analyzes, evaluates and provides strategic guidance and direction for programs, policies and procedures to ensure alignment with policy/standard requirements and acceptable risk mitigation practices.Effectively partners with second line risk functions in the resolution of risk related issues.Supports development and implementation of appropriate controls and procedures reflecting the standards set forth in the policies and regulations while accounting for risks inherent in the products, services, types and locations of customers of the risk functional areas.Reports to management on risks/issues identified within risk functional areas.Other Functions:Other duties as assigned.

Requirements: Education Bachelor’s Degree: Business, Finance, Management, or equivalent field.or equivalent work experienceExperience 9-12 years Risk Management/Risk MISFinancial Services industry.Skills & Abilities Strong operational risk management principles, methodologies and tools, governance principles and activity preferably in a financial services technology environment.Knowledge of workflow/processes and risks/controls, including: origination, underwriting, servicing, and collections/workout.Ability to independently operate in a complex, matrixed environment; adept at delivering andmaintaining productive working relationships across business, functions, geographies and lines of defenseAdvanced operational risk, process, and control validation and/or assessment skills.Ability to direct, train and guide peers, subordinates and management.Ability to handle conflict resolution with other groups to ensure appropriate accounting guidance is followed.Ability to adjust to new developments/changing circumstances.Ability to convey a sense of urgency and drive issues/projects to closure.Ability to effectively interact with the market, executive management and vendors.Ability to adapt and adjust to multiple demands and competing priorities.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills.Strong project management skills.
