Chief Debt Responsibility Officer

Populus Financial Group is looking to hire an industry first…a Chief Debt Responsibility Officer (CDRO) for a new brand to be unveiled this year.

This individual, alongside Populus Financial Group’s leadership, will be responsible for establishing and formalizing this newly created position with the objective of serving as an invaluable resource to help brand consumers succeed on a path to financial freedom.

The right candidate should be warm, engaging, caring, well-spoken, and convey a personal desire to help young adults (20-40 years old) succeed on a path to financial freedom.

The CDRO will become the “face of the brand,” publishing articles, conducting media interviews, making speaking engagements, and developing thematic video and social media content with the sole intent of becoming a resource for brand consumers to make well-informed financial decisions.

As an integral part of the leadership team, the CDRO will play a vital role in shaping the future direction of the brand and its intimate engagement with its brand consumers.

Extensive experience in banking, personal finance and the ability to proficiently communicate with and inspire brand consumers is critical for success.

Ultimately, as a thought leader in the industry, this position will provide an unprecedented opportunity to establish the vernacular and pathway of best practices between fintech brands and consumers.

The position will report to the Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.

As the newly established CDRO, you will play an integral role in establishing and serving as the brand spokesperson with its brand consumers and media.

You will collaborate with Populus Financial Group executives to create and execute compelling programming to educate stakeholders on a variety of financial topics, becoming a trusted resource for our brand consumers to succeed on a path to financial freedom.

As the brand’s spokesperson, you will be front-and-center publicly through speaking engagements and media interviews while at the same time writing articles, blogs, and offering resources and insight to our brand consumers.

Support and participate in the creation of compelling and educational financial resources for brand consumers Collaborate with the marketing team to develop key themes and a path of execution of the CRDO content strategy Write articles on relevant financial topics and provide financial strategies and insights to support brand consumers’ financial success Serve as the brand spokesperson and advocate attending speaking engagements, conducting media interviews and serving as a thought leader in the industry Establish channels of communication to educate brand consumers through traditional means as well as emerging technologies and digital interactions WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The ideal candidate will have a strong and extensive background in personal finance and banking with an intrinsic, empathetic desire to educate brand consumers.

The self-motivated, intellectually curious individual would be detail-oriented and confident in exercising independent thought and judgment.

The CDRO needs to be professional and display an animated physical presence and exude an approachable, friendly tone when engaging with the general public and brand consumers.

Experience | Qualifications Financial Services Industry and/or banking/financial operations background (Minimum 8years) (required) CFP (Certified Financial Planner) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) with experience in personal income tax and retirement planning (required) Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Economics (required) Pass a background check (required) Strong communication ability both internally and externally Engaging presentation style with empathetic and approachable tone Highly detail-oriented and self-motivated Positive customer relation skills Advanced MS Office Skills (Focus on Excel and PowerPoint) (required) Flexibility to travel more than 50% of the time (required) 1 All employees are eligible to participate in 401K plan 2 Full-time employees are eligible for benefits after 90 days of continuous employment, including medical, dental, vision, and short/long-term disability 3 Populus offers generous paid time off plans  PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
